It struck me recently that it might help me work out some half-baked thoughts if I had some place to work them out other than my thesis. Notes to myself don’t demand the degree of effort that I’d hoped they would; jotting down notes is a very different practice to having to explain to others what those notes mean, I have discovered. So it seems to me that some public forum in which I may be judged and, accordingly, despised might be a more suitable environment; the possibility of embarrassment is a force that I’m hoping to harness to my advantage. Though perhaps this is folly, like trying to ride a moose.
